Delete your Muqawil account
Use this page to ask us to delete your Muqawil account and the personal data linked to it. It works for every Muqawil account: the Muqawil apps for Android and iPhone, the web app at muqawil.app, and Muqawil Mail. It is free.
In the Muqawil app you can also do this yourself: open the account menu and choose "Delete my account".
Request deletion
Can't receive email, or no longer have access to that address? Write to privacy@muqawil.app with your name, your company and the email or mobile number on the account. We will confirm your identity and handle the request in the same way.
What we delete
- Your sign-in and profile: name, email, mobile number, photo, password or PIN, and your sign-in methods.
- Your devices and settings: device tokens for notifications, language and other preferences.
- Your access to every company on Muqawil. You will no longer be able to sign in.
If you are not the account holder of a company, your login is deleted straight away and we email you a confirmation. Backup copies are overwritten within 7 days.
What we keep, and why
By law, financial records are kept for 6 years. Saudi VAT rules (ZATCA, VAT Implementing Regulations, Article 66) require tax invoices, credit and debit notes and the accounting records behind them to be kept for at least 6 years. Your personal data is removed from these records or anonymised.
- Tax invoices, credit and debit notes, payments and accounting entries stay for the period the law requires (at least 6 years). Where they show who did something, your name is replaced with "Deleted user", and your email, mobile number and photo are not kept with them. Only details that the law requires on the document itself stay on it.
- Muqawil's own invoices for your subscription, if you paid us, follow the same rule.
- A short record that you asked for deletion and when we completed it, so that we can show we handled your request.
- When the legal period ends, these records are deleted too.
If your employer created your account
The records your employer keeps about your work (for example attendance, payroll and end-of-service records) belong to your employer, and the law requires them to keep some of them. Deleting your account removes your sign-in and profile; we tell your employer, and any request about those work records is handled by your employer.
If you own a company on Muqawil
If you are the account holder of a company, deleting your account closes the whole company, so we ask you to type the company name to confirm. The company becomes read-only for 30 days: you can still sign in, view and export its data. After that its data and your login are deleted, at the latest within 90 days. If someone else should run the company instead, write to support@muqawil.app before you delete. Admins who are not the account holder only delete their own login.
